Federal Judge Appoints F&W Partner Matt Weinick to Pro Bono Assignment

On August 3, 2016, Federal Magistrate Judge A. Kathleen Tomlinson appointed Famighetti & Weinick partner, Matt Weinick, to a pro bono assignment in the Eastern District of New York.  The appointment was made for the limited purpose of representing the pro se plaintiff at an upcoming settlement conference.  Since 2014, Weinick has been a member of the Eastern District’s pro bono panel. According to the Court’s website, the pro bono panel was created to represent individuals who do not have counsel and who “lack resources to retain counsel by any other means.”

Weinick was appointed to a case involving claims of employment discrimination brought by an individual plaintiff who does not have private counsel.  On his appointment, Weinick stated, “I’m proud of this assignment and looking forward to helping my client.”
